When we first started our business, we received a job for an interior detailing at a business complex parking lot. The customer mentioned they had a white Honda CR-V. We arrived at the address 15 minutes early, at 9:45 a.m. The lot was mostly empty, and we noticed a white Honda CR-V parked at the far end, away from the other cars. We tried contacting the customer, but there was no answer, so we assumed this was the car we were hired to detail. To make sure, we checked the vehicle, and it was unlocked, which made us more confident that it was the right one.
I started vacuuming the car while my brother continued trying to reach the customer. About 30 minutes later, at 10:15 a.m., our actual customer arrived - with a white Honda CR-V as well. We were shocked. He explained that his phone had died and there was heavy traffic on the way. He also told us that the car we were working on wasn't his. Realizing our mistake, we immediately stopped detailing the wrong CR-V and quickly returned everything to its original position. We then began detailing the correct vehicle, which was parked just a few spots away from the other CR-V. We hoped the owner of the mistaken car would return soon so we could explain the mix-up, but by the time we finished the job, they still hadn't come back. So, we left a note and our business card on their windshield.
A couple of days later, we received a call from the owner of the other CR-V, named Jason. He was laughing about the situation and said it had made his day. He even booked a detailing appointment with us, becoming a regular customer ever since. In the end, what started as a mix-up turned into a long-term relationship with a great customer. Jason still books with us regularly, and we look back on that day as a reminder that sometimes, a little unexpected kindness can go a long way.

My name is Kahim, and my twin brother's name is King. We grew up in Hong Kong and moved to Canada when we were 15. Our first home in Canada was Terrace, BC, a small town 15 hours north of Vancouver. We attended high school in Terrace from grades 10 to 12 and absolutely loved it. We're really close, and we do almost everything together. I'm so grateful to have his support throughout everything
Over time, we both developed a passion for cooking and dreamed of opening our own restaurant. So, we decided to study Culinary Arts at Vancouver Community College. After graduation, we worked at several restaurants before landing a management opportunity at a restaurant in Whitehorse, Yukon. We moved there and stayed for 9 months, but King and I didn't enjoy it, so we decided to move. We ended up in Tsawwassen, where we've lived for the past 4 years. It felt like home because it reminded us of Terrace—a small town with a tight-knit community.
King started working at Tsawwassen Spring first, and I joined him later.
Fast forward 3 years, and we were both tired of working for someone else. We knew we needed to make a change. Given our experience in the kitchen, most people would assume we would open a restaurant, but we had learned from our time in the industry that the restaurant business was tough. The profit margins were low, labor and rent costs were high, and food prices kept rising. We made a promise never to go back to food-related businesses.
So, we started looking into other industries and came across mobile detailing. I sent a video to King about it, and we both became determined to start a mobile detailing business. We worked day and night, researching and buying the necessary supplies while still holding down full-time jobs. Two months later, we officially launched our business.
And now, here we are business is featured in a magazine, something we never could have imagined before.
